Letters from Ethan (A brief summary of the rest of Zafaria)

(I have saved the skeletal drafts of the posts - I may have to split them into parts - detailing the dungeons which were in the test realm recently in awesome stories... well, all except Castle Darkmoor; THAT will be an epic two-parter which will be the final posts of this blog. The story has to end sometime, but the story there will be amazing... as of now, none of the crew is Exalted and I intend to have that dungeon happen after Morganthe is brought down. Anyways, enjoy this post.)

"I was amazed when Ethan invited me over to his house and showed me the items I had asked him to craft and the memory crystals of him fighting Eirikur and Borscht," said Christina. "He certainly dressed the part of an Avalon wizard, telling me he had found the recipe with the help of Wizard Mercury, who teleported him to that druid who made the Triton's Tail - turns out he's a skilled crafter with powerful armor." (I had to change up Christina's test - I needed the Grendelweed for Ethan's new Knightly Armor, which has much better resist than the Never-Drops robe from Sylster Glowworm. I had the bone and leather already.)

(Also, pro-tip for those wanting to speed run Winterbane, Pagoda [I got asked by my little sister what I wanted for Xmas under $50 and I said one of these and told her where to check, so I am sure to get one of these or money to get one on December 25] or Spiral Cup for the drops - have a Wizard who hasn't made it past Journeyman Wizard join! The Gauntlets use the WEAKEST wizard to determine the power of the enemies and if the weakest wizard is Level 19 or lower, the game sends out the Tier 1 enemies, which are the weakest. Be warned - Eirikur still has 4000 HP and uses his cheats, more than a Level 19 wizard can handle.)

"He has passed my test. So... Sierra, you're the lucky girl he wants to exchange rings with, what about you?" She giggled in a teasing way.

I glared coldly at her. "I already have a test for him... but I will tell you how it goes when I see him."

I visited Ethan's house and marveled at his place. He approached me from behind and put his arms around me. "Lovely, isn't it? I heard you have a test for me too."

I turned and kissed his cheek. "To be honest, I thought about dropping the test and just making vows with you." He cocked a brow in shock. "I love you, Ethan. I can't deny it... but..."

"I'm still not up to your level in experience, right?" asked Ethan. "You don't have to give me any special treatment, if we're going to be partners in love, we have to be partners in battle as well, and right now I can't even get to Avalon."

I nodded solemnly. "I heard about how you helped so many people in the timeline I don't exist in," I said. "I am glad you managed to do those things, fighting Malistaire, facing Morganthe, and even restoring Zafaria..."

He gave me a passionate kiss and I found myself hungrily returning it. "Before you go on and tell me about your test," he said as our lips parted. "I have to tell you how I have been doing." (I apologize for the sappy romantic dialogue, folks. I will tone it down in future posts. @_@)

"Leave nothing out," I replied.

Ethan began his tale as we had tea in the dockhouse in his boat lot. It was amazing what strings Grace pulled for the boat to be hauled here. "I managed to sneak into the Black Palace to find Tim-Tim Snakeeye..."

"You do know he was the same person?" I said.

Ethan smirked and nodded. "Indeed, or maybe two Zebra. Oh well. Anyways, he saw right through the fake illusion of the Elephant I was wearing and sent his Goliath warrior against me. Me and the person I was traveling with go through it okay." (Though Amber had to flee because she was aggroed and couldn't blade up fast enough to withstand the attacks of the Black Tusks. Ugh! And she had 39% resist in everything too! This is a bad omen. :( )

"We destroyed the magic stones driving the Olyphant people into a rage and confronted the faker."

"My companion quickly taught him a lesson in humility with her Frankenstein monster." (Missed the shot by Amber's Dr. Von's Monster did over 10000 with blades and traps. I also made sure to heal her so Tim-Tim would destroy his special shield.)

"After we reported to Queen Arayanah Silvertusk, we got Hannibal's twin brother Mago to take us to Drum Jungle, where we rescued Koko Smokesign and restore the Sun Obelisk in that time." (I completed the Star school and Sun school quests in Zafaria so now Ethan and Amber have Colossal to make them stronger. Ethan has Mend and Amber has Berserk - it's a great boost to damage if you can take the hits or heal them off. You cannot get the quest to get Colossal until you get the quest "Making a Mask", which only happens halfway through Drum Jungle, then Inyanga will give you the quest. You must also complete all of his side-quests. I guess KI wants you to work for that spell. :( But at least the two have Colossal now.)

"The enemies were much tougher, but me and my companion got through." (I hate Amber - her spells constantly fizzle even though she has good accuracy. She fizzled Dr. Von's Monster against Gillan the Boar Warrior to get her Level 58 Pet, the Scarecrow, THRICE! I had to flee and put in Death Shields. *facepalm* I know I was just cursed with ill luck, but seriously! And I forgot to switch to her boss deck against that elephant captain boss in the barge - that boss SUCKED DINGO KINDEYS because he Quaked thrice, destroying all our blades thrice. We ran out of cards and Amber was forced to Reshuffle. I can say the NaCl levels for me were as bad as for Blue. At least I didn't die - Ethan Gnomed the dang captain and two Scarecrows finished off the Blackback, but that was HORRIBLE! Oh, did I mention that the jerk came out of the box with Medusa, stunning Amber and making her unable to attack before he got off his first Quake. Yeeeah... X( )

"What about Nastrond?" I asked. "Did you visit it in the other timeline?"

"Yes, and it was a nasty place to be sure," said Ethan, frowning for the first time since we met. "I swear, when I saw the Ice Titan, I was glad that I had hired a group to help me keep him in a coma."

I shuddered as I recalled how we scurried to place the seals as Ymir roused awake. The thought of the entire Spiral becoming an ice age universe was terrifying - I don't mind cold weather, but the thought of hot places becoming sub-zero and too cold for life to exist was a nightmare. The Coven were still hiding in their fortress in Ravenscar, planning revenge, I knew it.

"Not all Ravens are evil," muttered Ethan. "But some are more evil than others. Same could be said for us humans as well. Malistaire was good until his wife got killed by a trivial disease, one anyone could survive. Perhaps she had an immune deficiency."

"A what?" I asked.

"It's what my mom told me about, she is a healer," said Ethan. He shook his head. "Nevermind, what's past is past. I am sure Malistaire is long gone."

I suddenly felt a chill down my spine, but ignored it. (I finally got Wintertusk done, I had to get Nastrond down before I finished Zafaria so Ethan could wear the Hero of Grizzleheim badge for a while. It was tough, nuff said. Amber helped out there but fizzled most of the time. I think she is cursed. :( Thanks to Blaze Thunderpants the Diviner and Austin Legendcaster the fellow Theurg for helping Ethan out there. [Sadly, Amber will have to redo the dungeon as she did not enter it through the sigils, she ported in. :O])

"The Elephant Graveyard wasn't fun either," said Ethan. "But me and my companions got through it well enough. We rescued Prince Tziri and then faced the trials of Mirror Lake... and watched as Morganthe destroyed it, like your friend saw."

I sighed. "Christina went through a lot of duress because she failed to stop Morganthe there. She went half-crazy and we chased her halfway through Avalon as..."

"Saint Agnes Oblique, Vestal of Balance!" laughed Ethan. "She told me. She said that your faces looked priceless when she told that jibberish to you. Gamma gave me a copy of the Spiral Key to Avalon and I'll take the time to meditate at the Shrines so I can become a Knight of the Wyrd like yuo three and then..."

"Slow down, cowboy," I said, smiling. "You made have impressed my friends and gained their favor, and I am falling in love with you, but I need to make sure you are going to be helpful to us. You've proven yourself in battle, crafting and wits, but you need to prove yourself as a team player. As a Theurgist, your duty is to support us and keep us alive... so my test is simple. All four of us are going to have our first adventure together. Alhazared has contacted Christina on a matter of secrecy and we're going along for the ride..."

(And that is what will lead off to the new content coming out soon! See you later!)
