(I have been working out a great idea for a story for the new dungeons. I can't do the last one as you have to be Exalted and I plan on that one being the last parts of Sierra's story, but I do have the other three unlocked for the group. Anyways, as Sierra hinted in a few posts ago, it's time for the four to have their first adventure together!)
(Yeah yeah, I did have them all fight together for some side-quests, but this is their first real adventure. Enjoy! I did add in the introductory quests for Zigazag as well because both of them take place in Krokotopia and Christina is Alhazred's student!)
"So, it's time, huh?" asked Ethan.
I nodded as we met in Grace's office. I learned that Ethan wore a ring with a gorilla head inset. "Let me guess, that was given to you by a relative and you were told that it was a lucky charm."
"How did you know?" asked Ethan. We showed him our rings. "I guess we're destined to be a team."
I nodded. "That doesn't excuse you from taking my test."
"As I said before, I don't expect special treatment even though we love each other." He blew a kiss to me and I blushed. Christina giggled.
"Uhm, what's with your outfit?" I asked, changing the subject.
"Oh, one of the druids took my old outfit and was going to make it better, he gave me this," said Christina. (I plan on farming for the reagents for that Level 76 robe for Christina at Dun Dara, but for now this will have to do. I'll have her gear update for Zigazag, I promise.)
"Ahem," said Grace. "Mma Dawnblade, perhaps you can explain our goal?"
"Yeah, old Al called me up on the horn, told me something about winds or something. I think he needs to get his roof patched, but as his top student, I'm not gonna tell him that."
"Right, let's get moving," I said.
"You know, I was thinking..." said Ethan as we headed to the Spiral Door. "Once we become a group, we need a proper base. Don't get me wrong, your friend's office is great, but... we need some place with a lot of room."
"Are you talking about that boat you got?" I asked, smirking.
"I'm working on decorating it now," he said. "Once I join your team, I'll start crafting a ton of tapestries to teleport us to places..."
"We'll talk about that later," I said as I opened the door and entered. The dry air of Krokotopia hit.
"So good of you to come, Christina," said Alhazred. He didn't look a day older - then again, you can never tell with these ancient Krok sages.
"Okay, Al," said Christina, rolling her eyes. "What do you need me for? As you can tell, we are trying to get the Sword of Kings..."
"Headmaster Ambrose sent a package of great importance to the Oasis in the care of Prospector Zeke," interrupted Alhazred.
"Why can't you get it?" I asked before Christina offended her professor. "No offense but..."
The Krok sage looked around nervously. "I sense inquistive eyes lurking about the Oasis, and I don't dare risk them catching sight of my direct involvement."
"Ah, so you need us to get it so they won't try anything funny," said Ethan. "Clever plan, that."
"I need you to retrieve the package from Zeke for me," said Alhazred. "Be sure to practice extreme discretion. It is a dangerous time."
I was a bit worried there but nodded. "I know."
Zeke was where he usually was, by the library, but was reluctant to give it up. "The thing is," he whispered, lowering his voice conspiratorially. "Ol' Ambrose told me to put it directly into Alhazred's hands. It's top secret, high priority!"
"C'mon, it can't be that scary," mumbled Christina. "We got all those stupid things for you, you could give us a break." I sighed - Christina isn't a master of tact.
"Aw shucks," said the prospector, rubbing his beard. "After everything we've been through, how could I not trust you girls?" He gave a toothy smile and handed me the package. "Just make sure you take this package straight to Alhazred!"
"Will do!" I said.
"Girls," said Ethan. "Come over here. Sergeant Talbot is asking for you."
It seemed he had a request for us. "Really?" I asked.
"You and your friends have proven to be skilled in routing the Tuts," said Talbot. "And one of your friends is studying under one of the Order of the Fang, so..."
"Okay, we'll listen," said Ethan. "Tell us."
The officer took a deep breath, it looks like he would regale us with a lot! "The Queen commissioned an expeditionary force, led by esteemed attache, Lord George Beagle, to make a diplomatic tour of the Spiral."
Grace smiled. "That is wonderful, Rra! If we can have trade relations with all the worlds, that would make things better."
"The last letter we received," continued Talbot. "Stated the expedition chartered a trade ship to bring them here after a stop in Kembaalung, a village near distant Mooshu."
"Oh wow," said Christina. "Let me guess, the trade ship never came."
"The trade ship arrived on schedule," said Talbot. "But Beagle and his team weren't aboard!"
"Oh my," I said.
"I fear something may have happened to them!" said Talbot. "Our hands are full here and I can't spare a single soul. Can you go to Kembaalung to search for Beagle and his expeditionary force?"
"Say no more!" said Christina before I held her back and shoved the package in her hands.
"YOU have a package to deliver, Chris," I said. "You can rejoin us when you're done."
"Shucks," groaned Christina. "Fine... It's a quick errand anyways." She rode off to the ferry.
I then had to help Valdus Lifecrafter, who had angered Selenor. UGH! :( (Yeah, I need to put all my friends on ignore right now. Can you ask for help later? Like Monday? :( Valdus, next time you need help with Celestia, wait until AFTER the new dungeons are done. :( ) (He did the dungeons in Kembaalung and died to the final boss.)
Thankfully, the others had gotten the stuff situated. Ethan told me that Christina had gotten the package to Alhazred and he had enchanted a Mander statue to take us to Zigazag, a village on the o
Ethan and Grace managed to speak to the trade ship captain, Captain Wakou, and found the Krokotopian Wheat he was supposed to get in exchange for a trip to the village. We boarded the ship and it sailed away from Krokotopia towards Mooshu...
But a different part of the world. I shuddered and wrapped my robe tightly around me. It was colder than even Wintertusk, a mountainous valley.
Just then, someone cried for help! "Ready for your first adventure with us, Ethan?" I said.
"I am more than ready," he said. "Let's go."
