This Is Halloween, This Is Halloween! (The Halloween interlude)

It's baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack...

(Yep, it's that time of year again! Time to stuff your face with candy until you puke like a Humongofrog and dress up is silly outfits! It's October, and this month is a full month of Halloween celebration for Wizard101 every year! Last year, KI created a whole interesting quest that gives a special Halloween-type pet for completing it. You can get it when you hit Level 13, but I decided to do this quest with Sierra and my fourth wizard just for fun and make this update on it. With her Colossal spell, Sierra should have no trouble. ^_^)

"Okay Dworgyn," I said angrily as I stormed into his classroom. "You'd better have a good reason..."

"Uh..." I began.

"Yes, I know there are always spooky dealings in the Haunted Cave!" said Dworgyn. "But this is especially spooky!"

"What is it?" I asked.

I nearly facepalmed. "Seriously?"

"Hurry to the gate near Stormdrain Tower," said Dworgyn. "Hurry, before all of Wizard City becomes a supernatural salad bar!"

I sighed and shook my head. "Only to get your nerves calm." I left.

I got a one-day Bengal Tiger mount, so I was using it.
As I made my way to Triton Avenue, I ran into a familiar face. "How's it going, cutie?" asked Ethan.

I blushed. "You cad. I have more important things to deal with." I explained about Dworgyn's problem and sighed.

"You too? He's recruiting wizards from all over Wizard City to help him with that, he asked me to do it," Ethan said. "Hey, how about we team up and tackle this."

I nodded. "The sooner we get this annoying thing out of the way, the better. I have more pressing issues than exploring the Haunted Cave."

This was probably just a...

Never mind!

We hurried into the cave and dealt with some Bloodbats. (These guys are Myth and have 400 HP. Problem is, since you have to be Level 13 to get this quest, you've dealt with Field Guards which have only 5 HP less. :p Myth might have trouble, but Sierra is over quadruple the level, so she can easily one-shot them even with a resisted Frog.)

"Why are you gardening in the caves?" asked Ethan. "Are you farming mushrooms?"

"I know it sounds crazy gardening here," said Tarley. "But our method of gardening involves darkness instead of sunlight. However, they turned evil! We tried to block off the caves but the Bloodbats attacked and the Dynamite went off too soon, trapping my partner Carley!"

"That's it, peace, I'm out," I said, turning to leave.

"We should at least rescue them," said Ethan.

"If you can find the extra Dynamite," said Tarley. "You can blow away the rubble.'

"You need help?" asked Ethan.

"No, I'm fine," I said as my Frog puked over the bats.

(You have to defeat two more bloodbats and then find theTNT, but as I said, Sierra was able to solo this fight with Frog.)

"This looks tough to break," said Ethan.

"Stand back, this might be dangerous," I said. I set the TNT and lit it...

Then ran like the dickens! BOOM!

"Help!" cried a voice.

"That must be Carley... let's go," I said.

"Undead plants?" I murmured. "Now I've seen EVERYTHING."

"I think they are going to devour that mole guy," said Ethan.

I sighed. "Let's prune these veggies."

(You get a random set of four Veggie Revenants every time you do this dungeon. The Vampire Carrots and Zombie Flytraps have 480 HP, a little more than the others...)

(But a Colossal Earthquake does 585 damage. :p)

"This is no ordinary cave," said Carley. "This is the burrow of Nosferabbit, the Vampire Hare!"

"Wait... a vampire... rabbit..." I said.

HA HA HA HA!!! XD

"I don't think it's funny, it's still a vampire," said Ethan.

"But it's a rabbit," I laughed. "Besides, this may just be a big..." I ran into the cave.

OK. They were being honest. Still not taking this guy seriously. :p

"Are you sure you don't need help?" asked Ethan.

"Thanks..."

"But I can handle this." The Frog took the vampire veggies out.

"Bleh!" said Nosferabbit angrily. "I am usually a strict vegetarian, but you're making me consider broadening my palette, bleh!"

"You know what, Bunnicula," I snorted.

"I don't care jack."

One pile of colossal puke later and the vampire bunny collapsed. Ethan healed me up. (Nosferabbit has 590 HP and is Death... Ethan could one-shot this guy with a Monstrous Seraph with Spirit Blade and Spirit Trap.)

"Bleh, I am weak," said the vampire bunny. "I will retreat to my coffin... for now." He turned into a bat and flew into that giant underground manor. The moles came into the cave.

"Well, you should have done the research," said Ethan.

"We've learn our lesson," said Carley. "We'll go back to our old jobs - costume sales! If you ever need a marvelous transformation, just let us know!" (Yep, once you defeat the Vampire Hare, you can actually buy cheap one hour transformations here. They only cost 25 gold and you can get story transformations like the Ravenwing from Sudrilund and the Elephant Warrior from Waterfront.)

"Well, it was nice working with you, cutie pie," said Ethan, and he planted a peck on my cheek. I blushed deeply as my heart raced. "I can't wait to quest with you again."

"I've been busy putting down Grendels in Savaarstad Pass. I found this guy called Skellek..."

"Skellek?" I gasped. "I put him down long ago! This is not a good omen. Well, be careful."

"I'm headed to the Vault of Ice next," said Ethan. "See ya later, cutie pie." He winked and left via the teleport orb. I blushed again... and had an idea.

"Rats," I muttered. "I guess I can't scare you, Dworgyn." I told him about what happened.

"Well, maybe next time those moles will learn not to enter gates with giant skulls on them!" he said. "You've saved Wizard City once again, oh the horrors you've seen... SO MANY VEGETABLES!" He handed me an egg.

(You get the Frankenbunny pet as a reward for this quest - and if you did it last year, you can repeat it, farming a ton of these pets. The big draw - these pets have a healing spell, so if you haven't gotten Satyr, this is a good substitute.)

Well, things couldn't get...

Weirder. (facepalm)

  1. Want to fight Nosferrabit any day of the week? Well, he has a twin brother... Bunferatu...

BAD NEWS: He is behind a GOLD SKELETON LOCK IN THE UPPER HALLS OF DARKMOOR CASTLE. Yeah, Bunferatu is far more dangerous than Nosferrabit. I might have my Necromancer farm animus from them to get a cool Monstrodome with Nosferrabit and Bunferatu for giggles. XD

  2. And yes, for the record, the dungeon can be done multiple times until after Halloween and is available at October 1st, so you can technically farm Nosferrabit for house guest AND summon spell. Of course, he's not good as a minion due to how weak he is... and farming Bunferatu requires a Discord server because trust me, you don't want to fight him alone.
