Letters from Ethan: From Mooshu to Dragonspyre; Christina's test

(I do hope you enjoy the sub-plot. I want to rush Ethan through the worlds so he can catch up with the girls. He has a LOT of catching up to do, but he's making progress. I ran through Mooshu today and managed to get Zarathax down without a hitch. This next test is a bit more difficult... Enjoy!)

Dear Sierra, my delightful fairy princess:

I just met your other friend, Christina. She looks pretty regal in that get-up, but I swear I only have eyes for you. (I was going to have these two 'hook up' but I changed my mind - they both can heal better than the others.)

"Okay, buddy," she said to me. "You may have seduced carrot fairy and gotten on Grace's good side, but you have to appease me as well, and I'm not as gentle as Miss Rainsmith! I want you to treat carrot fairy like a lady, you hear?"

"I promise, I don't intend to take advantage of her," I assured her.

"Maybe so, but if you intend to travel with us to help defeat Morgie, you have to prove you are going to be a benefit and not a crutch," said Christina, waving her finger in her face and smiling. I can see why you have such wonderful friends, my love. (Would he stop that? It's making me blush again.)

"Sierra has done what we haven't done," she told me. "She became a Legendary Artisan. If you want to show how much you love her, you have to prove you can match her skills. You don't have to be as skilled, but you have to craft me a piece of armor which you must wear and a housing item, and you have to be a Legendary Artisan. And to prove you are capable of facing dragons and ogres like we are doing, you must give to me something that can be found in the icy cave of Eirikur Axebreaker and the dark cave of Barbarous Van Der Borst."

I faltered at hearing those names - I had heard of how you fought those creatures, but I nodded slowly and agreed to the tasks.

Of course, I knew that to craft a carousel required a special anvil found only in the Great Spyre, so I had to get the key to Dragonspyre from Emperor Yoshihito, which meant purifying the waters of Shoshun Village. A girl called Amber helped me but I took time off to fish. I was able to get enough skill to train in spells that let me summon more fish. (Ethan is the first Wizard I have to hit Rank 6 in Fishing! That took forever.)

I also made a new friend. (You know that rare Crabling pet you get from farming the Crazed Forest Spirit? Well, guess what Ethan fished up!)

I got the Jade Scepter for Din Ho, purified the Shrines in Kishibe Village, and then faced the Plague Oni. I had the willies but I steeled myself and brought down the foul-smelling beast. He was putrid! (I giggled at this, recalling my own encounter with that Oni, who Wizard Jupiter helped me defeat. It was almost like a week ago!)

Madame Wu thanked me for the task and taught me a spell to summon my own Dryad to heal my wounds. It sucks all my energy but it is worth it in a pinch.

It certainly helped me a lot as I traveled through the areas around the Yoshihito Temple and cleansed it of the Death Oni's presence. I also caught some interesting fish, one looked like it was made of cardboard! (I spent all of Ethan's energy every time he was close to a level up fishing for new fish which is why he managed to get to Rank 6.)

The Death Oni tried to play mind games with me but I took him down with a magic card that summoned a gnome. I wonder if that will be a spell I can learn someday?

I then took down the Jade Oni (with some help) and took all the Mooshu items and made a little shrine to my professor's homeland in my barn. I hope you can come visit it some day.

Professor Drake insisted on testing me before I could go to Dragonspyre, I felt like I was dueling your father for the right for your hand. I defeated him, though. (I giggled. Cy is sort of like a father to me. I do write my parents from time to time, though. I wonder what they'd think about you?)

I met the Loremaster. She was pretty creepy but I did duel her a few times to see if I could learn anything from her. No such luck yet.

Anyways, I have managed to pass Balthazar's first test and got the recipe for the Firesoul Cloak for my second test. I'll see you soon.

I thought about it - maybe Dragonthorn gives tests on the recipes of different robes - I was asked to make two Surcoats of the Paragon. (I was very lucky and got a bunch of diamonds and black lotuses before reaching this crafting quest. It took a few realm hops to get the rest of the diamonds but I got a lot of ore. I may just forget about crafting the Adept Senator gear - it's only a boost one of every point to stats and by the time I get the stuff, I'll be Level 60 with Ethan and he'll get Waterworks gear or Grandmaster crafted gear to replace the Senator stuff!)

I've been a bit busy myself. (While waiting for Ethan to get stuff, I had Sierra farm Baron Mordecai a few times - she got a Greater Imp pet egg. I don't think I will bother anymore as it's almost Halloween and KI will remove the events soon.)
