I should have never let my guard down. I guess I was burned out from all the travels through Avalon with my girl gang, Grace and Christina.
So when I declared that we take a hiatus from hunting the Sword of Kings before we confronted the Nameless Knight, they agreed. "I am going to visit my pen pal, Destiny Sunsword," said Christina. "She wrote to me asking me to take her to Northguard so she could try out the new pogo stick I made her. It's the same as yours." (Yep, crafted the Ravenwood Pogo for my Life Mage in my second sub-account; it was about time that girl got a mount!)
I decided to clean up the quests for Jack Hallow, who had come around. He told me of an evil brethren Scarecrow called Baron Mordecai who threatened me...
I laughed at his threats. (I think only Sierra will do all the Hallow quests, they are boring for an Archmage who could rip ripe the Towers. :p)
Just then, Ethan sent a bird telling me he was going to compete in the next Spiral Cup tournament and needed a coach. I agreed to help after he wrote: "I know you warned me about Headmistress Crisp. Her first name suits her - she's pure poison." I sighed and helped him out.
I helped him out, cleaning up the goblins who still roamed the streets of Pegasus Place, the Green Men that lurked in Tanglewood Way, and also helping rescue a student from ANOTHER summoned Wildclaw. Seriously, this school is going to heck in a handbasket if they leave students with such dangerous tomes! :(
Ethan "kidnapped" me and showed me a surprise, his second home. I was aghast. "I heard the Red Barn Farm is mandatory if you want good crops and I plan on harvesting some Honey Sickles and then finding someone to get some Couch Potatoes so I can train pets too." He winked.
I felt my heat rising. Was he trying to impress me? (Had to get this - I need someone to garden so we can start getting Mega Snacks for this account. *groan*)
He didn't tell me who he dueled in the second Spiral Cup tournament, but he won it and humiliated Crisp further, and that made me smile. She deserved it after putting my friend Grace through heck with that evil tower! (Finally got the Goblin badges! That took FOREVER! I know I am not going to get the Rat, Cat or other badges as they are tough!)
Ethan found some old magical shears in Lord Bramble's tower which were pretty good. (Rare drop athame from Lord Bramble, it's a Life Athame which is similar to Point of the Pegasus but gives Incoming Heal boost. Nifty!)
I then helped Ethan deal with the O'Leary gang, who was gaining power again despite Pops' imprisonment and Meowiarty's demise. Ethan thanked me for those Forest Lord cards. I feel angry that Moolinda Wu didn't research an area-of-attack spell like Blizzard for Life, but I have no say over the whims of the schools.
We also found that Dr. Von Katzenstein escaped jail, so we went to his lab and brought him back to Justice with Basilisk. He had no chance. ^_^
"I need to do something," said Ethan. "I'll meet you in your house later."
I was stunned when I saw his new cloak. "I used up all my Crowns to fuse that toga into this," he said, winking. I felt faint and he caught me and put me on the bed... and then got in with me and kissed my lips a few times. I felt my body boil.
"No," I whispered, but I kissed him back, our lips hungering. I pushed him off me. "I can't... I can't do this. I want to love you, but..."
"I understand," he whispered, smirking.
"You don't understand, I want to love you, but then I would have to travel with you... and I have my own agenda... I don't think we could have a long-distance love... I would..."
"You'd fall for someone else," murmured Ethan, touching my cheek and wiping a tear from it. "I see."
"Please..." I wept.
"Very well." He planted a kiss on my cheek. "I'll join your group."
"You're to--" I caught myself.
"I know, I'm too weak, I'm just a Magus, I can't go where you are, I can't go to Avalon. Then I'll prove myself to you. I'll go on a pilgrimage, Sierra. I'm going to travel to all the places you traveled to and defeat the enemies you defeated, and I'll become as strong as you and your friends. Then we can find the Sword of Kings together." He kissed my other cheek and I blushed.
"I..." I embraced him. "Good luck, Ethan. Keep contact with me."
"I will," he said. Our lips met one last time and he left on his journey. I wiped my eyes dry.
I was a fool to let myself fall for him... but then again, I was helping him, so now he was helping me. It wouldn't hurt to have a guy in the group, one who could take on the healing responsibilities...
And he seduced me with his charm and cunning. I know he stitched that cloak to woo me. ;)
(I had thought about having Christina be Ethan's girlfriend - both had healing spells - but I wanted Sierra to have a romantic sub-plot and this 'pilgrimage' is just an excuse to try to speed run Ethan to Avalon so he could catch up with the girls. The final team will be him, Sierra, Grace and Christina - Christina will be the support, Ethan will be the healer, and the other girls will be hammers that will try to take out foes. I will probably have updates be 'letters from Ethan' telling of his travels and helping alternate universes out. See ya!)
[To be continued...]
I REALLY REGRET DELETING ETHAN. :(
