"So, he kissed you?" giggled Christina. "Awwwww, how romantic!"
I blushed. "Stop it. I let my guard down." I sighed. "He professed his love for me and said he was going on a journey to a parallel world to prove he can join our group."
"That seems wrong," muttered Grace. "We are all girls, he might..."
"Oh come on, don't be a sour puss, Grace!" laughed Christina. "I don't think he'd... would he flirt with us? The way he came onto Car-Fairy was sudden, I bet he's a player."
"He was kind to me and while his charms were..." My cheeks burned with shame as I defended him, I was still reeling from the way he came onto me. "And he surprised me with those kisses, he seemed sincere. If he was really a lech, he wouldn't have said what he did."
Grace and Christina whispered to each other, then spoke to me. "I propose we put him to the test. I..." She sighed. "I once had a boyfriend, but he betrayed me and hurt me..."
I gasped. "I'm so sorry," I whispered sadly.
"I want to ensure you do not cry the tears I did when he..." She waved her hand. I realized with horror what she meant. "He violated me, even when I begged him to stop. He hurt my body and I still bear the scars even now. I do not want you to suffer like that."
"Oh, he is so dead!" screamed Christina. "Let me find that little piece of..."
Grace coughed and shook her head. "I have forgiven him. I just want to ensure our friend is okay with the relationship Rra Jadeshade proposes."
I nodded. What if Ethan was a spy for Morganthe, sent to kill us from inside? I never thought about that! Still, he seemed nice. "Don't be too hard on him, though. He's only a Magus."
This dark-skinned woman entered my house... no, it's not what you think! She claimed to be your friend, Grace. "Jambo, Rra Jadeshade," she said. "Sierra has told me about how you kissed her. I do not have any ill will towards you, but... I was betrayed by a man and he violated my body. I want to ensure you do not do the same to my friend and what you say is honest. You say you are going on a journey to another dimension to fight the enemies we fought. I want you to gather the following items - Grubb's shovel, the staff from Ngozi the Beguiler, and a piece from the body of Stoker the mad golem. Bring them to me and I will be convinced - those entities are powerful for your level and to get to them you must go through their lairs, where powerful enemies will swarm you."
Ha! She didn't realize that Moolinda Wu had asked me to grab a book that Grubb had stolen involving the ways of Life magic so I had to go through Sunken City anyways! (Yep, Ethan has reached Level 38 and is doing the Level 38 spell quest for Dryad. Not a great spell but can heal for mass healing if you have no way to attack and are in a group. This part happened after I got the key from the Altar of Kings in Krokotopia. Yep, one of the schools HAS to complete Sunken City to get one of their spells! If you do intend to solo as a Life, pack a few Forest Lord TCs - fighting Grubb and his pumpkin-men 4v1 is not fun.)
I admit, seeing Malistaire and Meowiarty for the first time in the parallel world was harrowing.
I used a Forest Lord to take out the Clockwork Wizard but Meowiarty was tough.
I weakened the fiends so that Blaze Soulsinger, a necromancer, and Brandon Silverblood, a sorcerer, could finish them off. (Thanks to these two guys for getting Ethan JS through the end game of Marleybone. Rachel Soulpyre helped in Counterweight East but she wasn't able to go there yet. Blaze used the Deer Knight spell from his pet to defeat most of the enemies.)
I got rewarded for saving Big Ben with a Spiral Key to Mooshu so I could continue my hunt for Malistaire... but not before having some hard-earned milk. (Wow; RARE drop from Crusher - I got his milk bottle as a housing item! ^_^)
(I only just noticed this - you can see trapped Manders in the third part of the Tomb behind bars.) |
I helped a friendly wizard defeat Ngozi the Beguiler and collected his staff. Here is a picture of the staff. I gasped, he WAS serious. (Had to get Rachel Soulpyre through the Tomb of the Beguiler some time this century. :( This happened right after getting the key and before getting the book from Sunken City. You talk to Moolinda, get the key from the Altar of Kings, then talk to Wu again and she sends you to Sunken City - that wooden chest in Grubb's lair has the book.)
(This mount needs to go - it is ruining good shots. :( ) |
I found out that the golem Grace mentioned was causing havoc in Kensington Park in Marleybone, so I checked it out and then made a note to come back - don't worry, I'll get the body part, but I need to focus on getting the Plague Oni's essence - that sounded gross - for my new spell! Mooshu is a beautiful place, Sierra. I am sure you enjoyed it, I bet you tried on one of those sexy geisha robes. (I blushed fiercely on reading that. His words are so naughty!)
I am working up on my crafting skill. It'll never be as great as yours but I am working on it. I managed to impress Toshio with my Seals of the Seraphim. (First time I actually had enough Black Lotus from the get-go to craft the Seals - I was farming the bazaar for other items and grabbed all the Lotuses I could get. I had to wait for the cool down before I could craft the other items and get the Adept Crafter badge, which is needed to upgrade my Senator's gear.)
I completed the trials of Mind, Body and Spirit - my teacher is from this place, she told me about them - and I saw the wounded Emperor Yoshihito. I can see what you went through, my l--Sierra.
Of course, I did go to Mirkholm Keep and exposed the Raven Munin for the jackwad he was. (I completely forgot about this place until Ethan was Level 39, one level below the requirement to unlock the remaining parts of Grizzleheim. Oh well, the sooner he defeats the Coven, the better. Also, for some reason he didn't get the Level 35 spell quest from Baldur. I think I might have done that quest. I need to check. =_=) (EDIT: He got the spell quest done already, I forgot I had him port to a friend to get to Runethief's cave. It's pretty tough to solo this guy at Level 35, but Ethan could survive because he has too many healing spells. :p Also needed to get Rachel to Jotun.)
I noticed a lot of strange undead rabbit pets in the house tours, as well as strange rain-coat otter pets. (These otters are a new type of pet, the First Mate Otter. It's interesting as its epic talent is May Cast Reveal Fish School and it gives a fishing spell card. That's because it's part of the newest bundle, the Mystic Fishing Bundle, which has content totally focused on Fishing! The gear - sword and armor - doesn't give good stats but it's Energy Gear and gives fishing luck, a first. Also, the bundle has a special mini-item which you can use to visit a secret lake which has a unique fish - the Rainbow Trout. I need to get that bundle. It's available in Target now.)
I went through Hamatsu Village in the other realm and defeated the War Oni. He was so impressed he demanded a rematch, so I kicked him again. (Stupid glitch made it so I had to redo the dungeon, so I rushed it with Amy again. Ethan got the Diseased Wildclaw pet from Yakedo, woo. Amber helped with the War Oni areas.)
I hadn't forgotten Grace's test, so I went to Kensington Park and destroyed Stoker - twice - and got the vent on his head. (Mindy Goldheart helped him through it with a struggle because of all the Storm golems. Still, it's tough to do because you have to fight four enemies and the trash pulls have 2000 health or more. They had to use some potions. I also spent the night getting Rachel through Katz's Lab and Big Ben. Props to Kane Mooneyes and his friend for helping out.)
"You have done well, Rra," said Grace, bowing as she saw the relics. "A man who would seduce women for nothing would not risk their lives like that."
"I had help," I said.
"Still, you did it, and that's important, I can tell with my powers of perception that you are a kind man and will treat my friend well." That's what she sai--- er, told me.
I smiled. He was willing to risk his life like that... but my other friend had a test and I did too. I was still reeling from the way he came onto me, so I wanted him to truly prove himself. Grace's test proved he was a decent man... the other tests would be tougher.
