Ah, the Krokosphinx...
(Session 5 didn't end right away after I cleared Savarstaad Pass - I did finish the Pyramid of the Sun quests too so the girls could get to the Krokosphinx and get started there. Grace is way behind because she hasn't done Savarstaad yet, but that's okay as she'll have to run through the Throne Room again to get her Tempest spell anyways. Session 6 begins with the visit with Alhazred. Also, the screenshot here shows Sierra rejoining the battle after Krokohamen and his goons ganged up on her and destroyed her with a Cyclops/Banshee combo, she had to flee, chug a potion, and warp back before the battle ended. :( )
Professor Drake is a sick jokester, as I am now summoning the puking toad. Ewwww! Well, it smothers the enemies in vomit and kills them all, so I'm trying not to complain. X_X
(Sierra hit Level 22 after I discovered I had accidentally skipped over the Soulkeeper fight, which explains a few things. Grace also skipped it so they both took on the Soulkeeper and got the side-quest done, clearing the last quest in the Chamber of Fire. So now they have Kraken and Humongofrog, which confuses me - why is it E-rated to show vomiting from a toad and Gobblers flautuating? Gross. But Puke-Frog does his job and does a ton of damage at this stage in the game - Mindy still uses it in Dragonspyre even though she has Earthquake. All future spells are single-target and thus only the Frog and EQ can be used against mobs.)
I found this secret shop where I bought a better athame and a deck case(I had found a lot of junk clothing I sold to the bazaar and now had over 60000 gold!) as well as a Mander who trained me in special minion spells that would buff my minions and, if need be, kill them to heal me. Of course, doing such an evil act is bad karma and the foes would gang up on me.
(Finally got the Secret Shopper badge for these two - and Sierra has to mark this place as she's not strong enough to learn the remaining two spells she needs to learn here to become Master of Monsters. Yes, Conjurers be warned - you have to learn all of these spells as well!)
I also finally managed to get the second part of my Watchtower Hall done, the Stepstones! Sadly, I knew that it would be a long time before I could continue this quest as Felicia would not give me any recipes for the Hall, I had to wait until I completed her quests. But I couldn't get to Marleybone yet (without help) so me and Grace worked on getting through the Krokosphinx.
Krok breath - eyuck! |
(I am not going to mince words here - the Krokosphinx... MOST. BORING. PART OF KROKOTOPIA. EVER! It's not the beginning, where you are dewey-eyed and enjoying the new world, or the end, when you are glad to be free of this heckpit... it's just PURGATORY. And it was a living nightmare for Amy as the enemies usually sport the Ice element. This is my umpteenth time through the place and it still reeks. Here's a breakdown of what you have to do in the Hall of the Champions... )
- Kill a bunch of mobs.
- Kill a boss.
- Talk to someone.
- Kill a boss.
- Talk to people.
- Kill a bunch of mobs.
- Ditto.
- Gather stuff.
- Kill a bunch of mobs and HOPE something drops.
- Ditto.
- Kill a boss.
- Talk to the guy, you're done!
Phew! That was a lot of work, helping General Khaba get his sword re-made, but...
I couldn't have done it without my friend Grace! Her siren pet (who she insists is her secretary, but then you can't be a wizard without SOME eccentricity) could summon her fellows to destroy the enemies before us! Awesome!
I know it'll get much harder later on, but I can trust in my friends to support my frugality. Well, gotta go and kill some more Ice Weavers for Ako! ^_^
