Crafting the Celestial Observatory - Finale

Hello there, and welcome back to the Crafting House Series, Season 2! This is the final part, and things are going to get more complicated - the remaining crafted reagents require Sunstones, which are a rare harvest from Sandstone Spawners. The first place that has Sandstone Spawners is the Research Station in Celestia but there are only a few, so I suggest the other option - transmutes!

You only need 10 Stone Block(which are easy to farm from the Atheneum) to get a Sandstone. Still, you'll need 150 to get a Sunstone, so that's a thing. Avery Templeton, near the entrance to the Survey Camp, has these transmute recipes for Sandstone and Sunstone for 600 gold each. It's a very big investment but worth it. You can get Sunstones as rare boss drops in later Celestia and on but I wouldn't rely on farming bosses for reagents. (Every boss in the Crustacean Empire, the Trial of Spheres and the Waterworks has a 1% chance of dropping a Sunstone. Sierra got a few from these bosses so she didn't have to harvest so much. You might also get them as rare cards from Crown Shop packs if you are swimming in Crowns.)

(This is future me: I just found a perfect spot to farm Sandstone, but you have to be able to get to a secret area in Marleybone. Sailor Mercury helped me get there and farm the small area for Sandstorn, which appeared near the rocks and ocean river. It's a Wizard's Watchtower house own by... well, I think I met the guy...) (If you can get into Halley's Observatory, which is accessible by the Royal Museum after completing every main quest in Avalon - it's the quest to get the Spiral Key to Azteca and where four schools of magic get the egg for their Level 98 pet - you can find that Halley has several Sandstone spawners around the place. The bummer is that you can't switch realms in Halley's Observatory so you have to leave, switch realms in the museum and come back. It takes a long while if you don't have access to this place as you have to port to your friend when he gets inside, he has to leave and wait for the realm timer to shut down, switch realms, and repeat. It took me a week to get all the Sunstones as half of them were transmuted from Sandstones.)

(The earliest you can farm Sandstone is Celestia, in the Arboretum. Sadly, the spawners are smack dab in the middle of enemy patrols so it's risky to grab them and there are only three spawners. You can also harvest them from areas in Stone Town but the spawners are few and far between; however, you CAN switch realms in Stone Town and you can find a few Stone Block and Black Lotus spawners, in case you still need those reagents. The Observatory, however, is the fastest and most efficient way to get Sandstone and Sunstone, and Sierra will need a LOT of Sunstones for her next crafting quest!)

So now let me show you the final two crafted reagents you need...

7 Crystal Street Lamps:
  • 14 Polymorph Ninja Pig TCs (buy these from the Archivist, that thing in the first screenshot)
  • 14 Perfect Peridot (buy from Achytras in the Base Camp)
  • 14 Glass Vial (buy from any reagent vendor in Mooshu, Dragonspyre or Celestia)
  • 28 Sunstone (see above)
  • 42 Fish Fins (rare drops from fishy enemies)
  • 70 Pearls (Pearl Spawners are in the Grotto)
  • 28 Black Pearls (rare harvest from Black Lotus spawners; find in Mooshu or Wintertusk)
That is a LOT. Get transmuting!

I have them here as Star Chalices are a like for King Parsley and since King Parsley have a 10% chance of giving Sunstones and Amber when you harvest them at Elder, I plan on having a King Parsley garden soon! Kings are also great likes for Couch Potatoes - yes, I am still farming the Potatoes because I have only three Evil Magma Pea seeds. :(

The final and most painful of the items are the Star Chalices. You need EIGHT, so here's the list!

8 Star Chalices:
  • 8 Monstrous TCs (I still had a few from my earlier adventuring days)
  • 8 Shadow Oils
  • 8 Pristine Vials (You need to buy them from Achtyras)
  • 24 Sunstones
  • 40 Fish Fins
  • 48 Pearls
  • 80 Fire Blossom (rare harvest from Lava Lily spawners, you can find tons of those in Dragonspyre)

Got everything? NO. Need one more Celestian Shield... give me the drop, you stupid shark!!! X(

(The shields are the worst reagents to get as the drop rate for them is 0.01% To flip me the bird, Amy Mistcloud got THREE...)

Sailor Mercury is the best! She told me she sold her Shields to Elik and I rushed over and got them from him! They cost only 690 gold a pop, thanks! ^_^

(I discovered a nice thing that let me quickly get the Shields - I had Amy sell all her shields in the Bazaar and I was able to have Sierra buy them from the Bazaar as they appeared int the stock. It's important you have the purchase happen IN TEN SECONDS, because once the items hit the bazaar other players are gonna swoop in like condors and grab the items. I let the third be - I am sure some other player will be spasming in joy that they got a Celestian Shield for their own Observatory! ^_^)

We only need the regular reagents - five Unstoppable treasure cards(you get two from Thurston after finish a story quest), five Perfect Onyx(go speak to the Steam Valet who sells reagents in Base Camp) and three Pristine Vials(also sold by that guy).

We rock. Back to the Hall of the Ice Forge!

Imric Gloomlight: "Beware! Beware! Great evil seeks your blood, awk!"

Hey, heard it, seen it, have the robe. Stop being a Gloomy Gus. (I wonder if that ghostly raven cryptkeeper is going to be part of a new quest in a future update? Maybe another Halloween quest? That would be cool! ^_^)

3... 2... 1... FOOOOOORGE!!!!

(Trumpet sound!)

LADIES AND GENTS, I GIVE YOU... THE CELESTIAL OBSERVATORY! ^_^

Look at this place! It even has a PvP ring, if you want to have a magical duelist tournament. :D

I'm in outer SPACE, everyone! ^_^
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and, hopefully, you'll stick around for my final house crafting, which won't show up until moons later! Cheers! ^_^
