This wasn't the Lunarium, that was for sure, but this place was eccentric in its own right. I found I could take a statue of a Celestian. I decided to take it for my future Observatory. :) (Another free housing item!)
We found the doors to the Lunarium tightly sealed but there was an inactive Stellar Protector nearby. "Maybe we need to reactivate it," said Mindy.
"We'll need a power core for that," said Christina.
I smirked. "Well, there ARE violent Stellar Protectors nearby..."
"We can kill two birds with one stone - we help reduce the violent population and get this other guy reactivated." Needless to say, my girls were down with that. ;)
(We also collected a Sensorium that Edith wanted.)
"Seems that some powerful magic spell is keeping this guy from fully activating," I said. "Let's go find this Captain Gloomfane."
We found his ghostly presence lingering nearby. "Oh great," said Mindy. "Game over."
"However, I did entrust the parts of that incantation to my three best men," said Koltan. "However, unlike me, they are not tired of fighting and won't give up the incantations so willingly."
I had a sinking feeling I knew what that entailed...
Yep, we had to beat the stuff out of them. (I forgot the names of the three bosses you have to fight, but none of them have more than 2000 HP and one is storm, one is myth and one is fire. They are all accompanied by Shadow Web Conscripts so expect Tower Shields.)
We returned to Koltan and gave him the words to the incantation and he spoke it and I felt a tingle.
"There, I have undone the spell of binding on that Protector," he said. "I wish you luck."
"Well, your place is underwater now," I said.
"Yes," said the Protector. "Morganthe and her forces came to steal the power of the Astral Magic. We fought hard and long against her evil Shadow Weavers and we prayed to the Storm Titan for aid. I tried to protect the buildings but failed. I will open the way to the Lunarium for you, please go and find out what has happened." He unlocked the doors and we headed in.
(Bugs are like freaking hydras, man! When one is sliced down, two more pop up! KI, can you add the text here too?) |
The place was horrible - ghosts were attacking each other. (The ghosts here won't attack you but there are random mobs in the back, so watch out.) We found another Protector who asked us to use the crystal plinths to banish the dead.
But first we located the Zodiac Tome of the Messenger and I took notes. (I had to redo the Lunarium because I had missed the book the first time and rushed through, and you have to refight the three bosses in the Portico since you can't port. Head kisses desk. :( )
While we activated the plinths, I presented the Sensorium to the statues to get the knowledge for Edith that she wanted.
After we banished the dead, two Protectors appeared and attacked us. Big mistake. :p
We then climbed the stairs to the top of the platform and found this guy.
"Go ahead and make the stupid puns, robot guy," I sneered. "We're taking the Moon of Celestia and there is nothing you can do to stop us."
I admit, he was pretty strong...
And Christina was getting ticked off. "I need a better minion!" she moaned as Helpful Mander bit the dirt again. "Seriously, I need something on the line of your Talos, carrot fairy!"
"Who needs minions when you have US?" I laughed as Medusa vomited acid on Selenor, pitting his armor. The water around us diluted the acid but it did a lot of damage.
"ENOUGH!" cried the robot. "I surrender!"
We lowered our weapons reluctantly.
"So you attacked us because you thought we were the enemy?" asked Mindy. "No way! You're talking to Sailor Venus, champion of love and..."
I interrupted. "Tell me about Morganthe."
"She is an evil sorceress, leading an army called the Shadow Weavers," said Selenor. "She had come to this world to steal the power of the Sun, the Moon and the Stars. I sense Astral Magic within you but yet you are not evil. You are brave and noble. I will release to you the Moon of Celestia. Use it to drive off Morganthe and her army and bring peace to Celestia."
I nodded. "We'll do that."
"Got the Moon!" said Mindy, picking up the disc.
"Good, because YOU have the honor of installing the Moon," I said wickedly.
"I didn't sign up for this!" grumbled Mindy. "Fine, let's do this!"
Mindy struck a pose after sliding in the disc. Very egotistical.
"So that only leaves the Sun," said Christina. "Let's talk to Edith and see what parts of Celestia we haven't explored yet. If I guess right, we have to fix the portal to the Solarium too so we're going to be hunting portal pieces one more time!"
"Let's get moving, the sooner the better," I said. "I want to tell Grace of all our adventures!"
"For great justice!" cried Mindy, doing her pose again. I rolled my eyes. I couldn't wait to get rid of Sailor Venus. I never thought working with a Sailor Wizard would be so ANNOYING.
"Thanks," said Christina with a big grin. "I'm always up to advancing science! I'm a crafter, you know. So, any places in this world we haven't seen yet? We think the portal pieces to the Solarium portal could be there."
"Only the Science Center and the Crustacean Empire," said Edith.
"We'll hit the Science Center first," I said. "Me and Sailor V over here..." I glared at Mindy, who grimaced. "Were there briefly so we're familiar with the place."
"Sounds like a plan!" said Christina. "I can't wait to check that place out! Let's go!"
Little did we know that this final stretch of exploration of the lost world of Celestia would bring us face to face with our enemy for the first time... and it wouldn't be the last time we saw Morganthe.
