Crafting the Celestial Observatory - Part 2

Hello again, and welcome back to my Crafting House Series, Season 2! Last time I talked about the recipe for the Celestial Observatory itself and one of the items we needed... which I was luckily able to get without crafting, thanks to the Bazaar. The Bazaar used to sell another item,but it seems that KI fixed it to be non-auctionable, that or I can't find out where to look in the Bazaar. I speak of the Celestial Shield. You only need two, but it isn't craftable. This is a boss drop...

And THIS is the guy you have to beat down to get it as a very RARE drop, Culhiun Charmtooth, in the District of the Stars, which is only openable by a sidequest given by the Archivist. (Only 1/1288 chance!) Needless to say, the Watcher spent all of his Sunday after a long hard day of sweaty work and running on little sleep to harvest these two items. Chris Storycrafter(who was harvesting them anyways to make his own Celestial Observatory - he crafted the sprigs) and Sailor Mercury worked double-team to get these items. I wasn't able to fight this guy yet but seriously, I was NOT going to fight him a zillion times to get these items. Get a friend on your account to do the dirty work. :p

Amy: "I did NOT sign on for this."

Chris: "Oh shut your yap, Amy, you're stuck in Fort Rachias and can't get any quest experience since you're Exalted now, you're supposed to be a hero who helps the needy, so get helping!"

Amy: "That wasn't in my job description! AUGH!"

GIVE ME MY SECOND SHIELD, YOU $#!%*!!! :(

Yep, expect to be farming for MOONS. Turn off the sound, plug in your MP3 player or TV and just multi-task while waiting for the Shields to drop. :(

I eventually got them, but not until I was into Zafaria. I'll tell you how I did get them in the finale. You need two of these babies. I probably would have ended up giving up had I not been given a loophole to get the items to me from a friend. More on that later, the less said the better.

The other item are the four Celestian Sconces, which are crafted but will take a while. You only have three crafting slots so you have to wait for a cool-down, and the cool-down timer is HUGE - 12 hours. Luckily, this is the only other crafted reagent which doesn't need Sunstones.

4 Celestian Sconces:

• 4 Gargantuan TCs
• 4 Perfect Sapphires
• 4 Crystal Vials
• 8 Golden Pearls (if you are poor, Golden Pearls are a rare harvest from Pearl spawners)
• 24 Aether (if you are poor, Aether are a rare harvest from Kelp spawners)
• 80 Acorns (if you are poor, Acorn are a rare harvest from Mist Wood spawners)
• 20 Fish Fins

Of ample quantity I had were the Garg TCs(I wouldn't have had them if I hadn't gotten the Celestian Tree Sprigs for a penny in the Bazaar) and Golden Pearl(I went crazy and for some reason there were 300 of those things in the Bazaar, whoa!); I had enough Fish Fins and Aether for two Sconces only, and I was lacking everywhere else. Luckily, Acorns were a bit plentiful in the Bazaar and the other items I bought myself from Archytas in the Base Camp. He'll be your go-to guy for reagents for the rest of the stuff that you can buy.

I just crafted two of the Sconces and gathered up more ingredients later for the remaining two while waiting for the timer to cool down.

Oh yeah, I also created one of the seven Street Lamps we'll need next part, but that's for later. Ciao!
