Session 8: Clearing the Krokosphinx

(Had Sierra farm Koto with Mindy to hopefully get the Ninja Pigs spells, it would be awesome for her level as it does a ton of damage for only five pips! Better than Minotaur-I-hit-weak-and-waste-your-traps. This picks up after the Wysteria update and is the second Grizzleheim update. Decided to get this out of the way now. Sierra helped Grace fight through Savarstaad Pass and Skellek first so she could help out. Krokotep is next, I promise! I want to get Sierra to Mooshu eventually!)

((EDIT: YAHOO! I managed to get Koto to cough the pigs for Sierra up after four battles! Awesome! Goodbye Cyclops, you are obsolete! ^_^ This made the second run through Sav MUCH easier. Okay... let's get back to the main story. [I was sad my other Conjurer, Mindy Goldheart, didn't get them but by the time she gets through the Stellarium, she'll probably get the quest to earn Medusa so the Pigs will be obsolete by then - Medusa can stun most enemies for two turns!)

Hi, Sierra again. Turns out that Merle told me that Bjorn needed my help again. Bjorn told me that the bears of Ander's Holt had trouble, and me and Grace discovered that the thane(their word for ruler), Ivar Anderson, had betrayed the people of Ander's Holt and driven them into the woods with the help of a group of bandits called the Red Claw! Grace said she would investigate this.

I decided to take a break and help out some of the professors and Kisai in Wysteria. Even though the tournament was over, the exchange students were sticking around to relax and check out the school before they went home, and Kisai taught me a bit about his home world, Mooshu. He even gave me a spell card which let me summon ninja pigs! Woo! (Had to make a story explanation of why Sierra got the spell, he he.) I had to deal with the Green Men again to collect leaves for Thaddeus Price to clean up the fountain, but it was worth it.

(I hate the collect four leaves quest - they drop very rarely from Green Men so you may have to fight a zillion of them to get them, and as I said before, they're the toughest mobs you'll fight before you reach Mooshu. Not even the mobs in Big Ben have this many health points! Turned out that I had forgotten to do these quests with Grace too. >_<)

When I went to sleep, I had a strange dream... I dreamt of a sorceress with a wicked smile stroking a spider, and me summoning a creature of shadow and using it to attack her in a crystal world. I was gripping a shadowy weapon which seemed to be a living thing as it could cast spells on me... and I didn't have Lady Kate as my pet, but a cute female creature with snakes for hair...

Your quest is far from over, Tightwad Conjurer...

I woke in a cold sweat. What could this mean? Probably just a nightmare. I had to go back to Grizzleheim to help Grace.

(Just a little preview of Sierra's fate in Khrysalis Part 2. Apologies for the pictures I took from the official newsletter. I don't own them. ^_^)

Grace told me she had had the same dream and we decided that Shalek had waited long enough. So we headed back to the Krokosphinx and entered the Vault of Ice. It wasn't too difficult since I now had the power of the ninja pigs! ^_^

Shalek mentioned a legendary warrior and asked if we would like to summon him. We agree to do this as we needed the training, and after gathering the ingredients, we fought the ghostly minotaur and his lackeys. I was dead on my feet but I got my second wind and wrecked face. Shalek was quite impressed at our strength.

(Sierra should have been knocked out because the Djeserit minion blasted her with a spell when she was at 34 HP, but when she dropped to zero and the glass cracked... she was still able to fight. Then she suddenly regained 243 HP! I think it was a HP calculation bug and I was grateful for that, but I don't like using bugs to win battles. Also, another jerk entered the Vault of Ice with us and destroyed the Protector so I had to reset the dungeon so the girls could defeat the Protector to get some soul dust. Luckily, it seems that you don't have to rebattle the other banshees.)

After that, we headed to the Emperor's Retreat and fought through tons of enemies and puzzles. We also found one of Zeke's scarabs in the frozen lake, where we rescued a ton of Ice Manders.

At the end was Krokotep, the slimeball who stole the Krokonomicon. We fought a nasty battle, but Grace's Kraken and my pigs prevailed! We found a golden scarab from the dust that remained.

"I wonder what that is, Mma," said Penny.

"Probably a clue," said Grace. "We have to investigate."

We reported to Shalek, who led us to the Balance school, where Alhazred, General Khaba, and Khai Amahte awaited us. They told us to go to the Tomb of Storms and recover the Krokonomicon, which had been given to the leader of the Tuts, Krokopatra!

Sergeant Major Talbot told us that Hetch, who served the order of Storm, would know a way into the Tomb of Storms. I excused myself to take a rubbing I had made in the Vault of Ice to Zan'ne.

The librarian was pleased and I was about to leave... when my professor contacted me and ORDERED me to come visit him. What now? >_<

[To be continued...]

Sorry if this point was short. I cut out some unnecessary stuff like Grace having to do the same Wysteria side-quests. Next time... Tomb of Storms? Late April Fools, no it's not. The girls are at Level 30, and you know what THAT means! ^_^
